Lotus Agenda Rewrite

Over the weekend, I realized that I am bored. Bored. Bored.

My dyslexia project (http://www.decode-abc.com) runs by itself. I check the York University website twice a day to see whether I have been admitted. I spend hours browsing the internet without much purpose, read a daily newspaper cover to cover. I need a new project for the summer.

This weekend, the IPad went on sale. It’s a great entertainment device, but doesn’t look very functional. I thought it might be fun to develop an app for it. Maybe something I can use when I get to University.

For years, I’ve been thinking about re-writing Lotus Agenda, It was an awesome Personal Information Manager (PIM) and maybe one of the best programs written in the DOS days. But it died young, and was never ported to windows.
Over the weekend, I decided to take a whack at Agenda for the IPad. Maybe it’s the killer app.

Mind you, I’m a retired old fart. I might work 2-3 hours a day, but that’s about it. But how hard can re-writing this old chestnut be?

I have only skimmed your posts in the greatest hurry, but... Wow! All I can say is, "Wow!!!" If you can pull this off, I'm letting you know right now that I will drive from Albany to Toronto and be first in line to buy a copy, if that's what it takes.

I will come back for a more careful reading, but for now I have put a link to this on a celebratory post for Agenda 2.0's 20th birthday from yesterday.
